Hopefully you have read the previous page on this topic and watched the TED Talk by Neuroscientist Jill Taylor Bolt of her own experience of left and right brain function when she experience a brain stroke https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyyjU8fzEYU to understand how the energies of the left and right hemispheres of the brain work and you have seen their resultant affect in a human being’s life.
So the understanding of the left and right brain function is as follows:
The left hemisphere of the brain is the side that is concerned only with our human condition. It understands logic, mathematics, sequential relationships and the parasympathetic nervous system. Its main job is to place everything in this reality into a time line. It is the thinking mind. This creates the illusion that we are finite, that we are individual egos, separate from one another and separate from God.
In contrast, the right hemisphere of the brain is the side that represents the creative part of our human biology. This includes music, rhythm, imagination, intuition, humor, dreams and the sympathetic nervous system. It is the feeling energy body. The right hemisphere understands that we are eternal, connected in unity to one another, to existence and to God.
Aren’t these the polar opposites of perception called Dvaita (seperateness) and Advaita (oneness)?
It is very important that we understand that they are only perceptions of the left brain and right brain. Each of them are not systems of living life, where you decide you either follow this way or that way.
If you are more left brained, you will think, speak, live and also teach Dvaita.
If you are more right brained, you will think, speak, live and also teach Advaita.
Neither of these are realities on their own – The only real thing is Existence – The next real thing is your perception of it through your left brain and right brain function.
Life is an illusion – This is the perception of people whose brain function has been seriously compromised – it is not their experience.
This is a good time to take a closer look at the attributes of the left brain and the right brain and their resultant energies and expressions in life as detailed below:
Masculine —— Feminine
Thinking —— Feeling
Planning —— Doing
Logic —— Intuition
Straight Lines —— Circles
Thought —— Being
Time —— Eternal
Head —— Heart
Control —— Freedom
Science —— Spirituality
Yang —— Yin
Light —— Love
Causative —— Experience
Shiva —— Shakti
Meditate on each of the above attributes and how much of each do you carry in your being. You may be strong or weak in some. The ones where you are weak need more nourishment. The ones that you have too much of, need to be calmed down. The work associated with their balance will give you a balanced perspective of existence and life.
To have a very deep and experiential understanding of the above attributes and their play in your daily life, please attend my workshop ‘The Alchemy of Spiritual Transformation‘.
Balancing the Shiva & Shakti energies within the self is the 1st step towards mastering Unity Consciousness inwardly. Without this balance one tends to interact in the world and co-create with a gender biased perspective. This is why we have the war of the sexes and viewpoints from ‘scientific minds’ versus ‘spiritual minds’ that never unite. Balancing these energies does not make a person neutral, rather, it brings in awareness and mastery of when to use the right energy to co-create with others.
If these energies are mastered, though carrying out their outward sensual and sexual roles, no man will ever wrong a woman and no woman will ever wrong a man, for they each see in the other, a part of themselves. This is the 1st step towards personal and inter-personal peace.
Unity Consciousness outwardly, is connecting with all forms of symbiotic life and matter on earth. It is about breathing the one breath of Gaia, the union of Mother Earth and Father Sky.
Mastering Unity Consciousness inward as well as outward is the stairway to Christed Consciousness.
Our fullest potential is found in the weaving and balancing of the Divine Feminine & Divine Masculine energies within ourselves. Both men & women carry feminine & masculine wisdom and tools. However, sometimes one or both of these energies is out of balance, silenced, wounded, misunderstood or disrespected. By balancing, healing, honoring and integrating our Divine Feminine and Masculine energies, we write a new future for ourselves, humanity & this planet.
Are you aware of the masculine & feminine energies that the above Avtaars expressed during their lifetimes? Do you understand the work that their energies did in the world? Do you see any purpose of imbibing some or all of their energies / teachings?
